Glow Recipe Niacinamide Dew Drops- The Tik-Tok Viral Skincare that Everyone’s Loving

Hi guys, it’s Krissy, and I’m here to talk about the viral watermelon skincare that everyone’s loving. It’s the Glow Recipe Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops.

First things first, let’s look at the packaging. The packaging is very cute and pink. I love the shape of it, and the pump on these things are really good. The bottle is very minimalistic, with just a tiny box of words describing it on the front. It is $30 for 40 mL, which is less than a dollar per milliliter, on Sephora and the Glow Recipe website.

Next is the scent. It has a very sweet watermelon scent that some people will like. My friends and I all have this product, and we are split about 50/50 on whether this smells good or bad. Personally, I think it smells really good. I would definitely recommend smelling this in the store before purchasing, as the scent tends to linger, and it might be bad for some people sensitive to smells or people with sensitive skin.

The purpose of this product is skincare but also a primer. One thing I will say about this is that a little bit goes a long way for this product. I would be very careful about using too much, because using a full pump, or squeezing the pump all the way, will give you way too much product. You don’t need that much, at least I don’t. This product is meant to make you glow, and this will definitely give you a subtle shine. With no other product on your face, this will give you a nice sheen. When I put on too much of these dew drops, it makes my combination skin look oily. The formula is very cooling, but when I put this on my face, it’s dry down is very drying. It’s not super super sticky like the way I know a lot of people like their primers, so if you want the kind of primer that will keep your makeup on the whole day, this isn’t gonna be it for you. This is more for the natural, no-makeup girlies who want just some glow to their faces, but not a super glam, super heavy makeup look.

On the Sephora website, this has 4.4k reviews, with an average of a 4 star rating. I agree with this. I think the formula is drying, and while it smells good, it leaves your face with a strange feeling, almost like there a thin layer of something on your face, which I suppose there is, but serums are not supposed to be like that. It’s listed as a product that is trending on socials, which I agree with, a community favorite, which I don’t agree with. I think many people see this online and buy it, but some of my friends didn’t end up liking it, and it made some of them breakout. Sephora says this has a high-shine finish, which I definitely agree with, and it has niacinamide. This product is popular with teenagers, but I also know some people whose moms think this product is for mature skin, and niacinamide can be aging and inappropriate for young children/ teens. It is also vegan and clean/ planet aware, which I think is super important. It’s main ingredients are niacinamide, watermelon, and hyaluronic acid. This can be used by all skin types and this mainly targets dryness and dullness. I didn’t consistently use this enough to see if it brightened my skin at all, but it didn’t make my face super moisturized or anything.

They have a whole line of ‘watermelon glow’ products. They have Dew Drops (this product), the toner (which I reviewed here), a facial mist, Dewy Flush (a serum used for blush), Hue Drops, (a serum used for bronzing), a night treatment (a moisturizer), a moisturizer, a Dew Balm (this formula in a stick form with SPF 45), a liquid SPF 30, a Glass Balm (lip balm), and a sheet mask.

Overall, I think this product is pretty worth it. A majority of its buyers are teenagers and young adults, and I might not recommend this for them. This is probably for more mature skin, but it’s appealing to younger kids because of the smell and its social media hype. For the price it’s not too bad, but I would get a Glow Recipe kit before a full-sized product.
